Linear Power Supply (nguồn tuyến tính, linear regulated power supply, linear regulator PSU) là bộ nguồn tạo điện áp DC ổn định bằng phương pháp ổn áp tuyến tính thay vì đóng cắt tần số cao như SMPS. Nguồn thường gồm power transformer → rectifier bridge (chỉnh lưu cầu diode) → smoothing capacitor (tụ lọc) → linear voltage regulator (series pass transistor/LDO regulator).
Đặc điểm nổi bật là low ripple & noise, low EMI, clean DC output, rất phù hợp mạch analog, audio, RF, measurement instrument, laboratory equipment. Nhược điểm là hiệu suất thấp hơn switching power supply, tỏa nhiệt lớn nên cần heatsink thermal dissipation.
Các dạng phổ biến: bench power supply (nguồn thí nghiệm), regulated linear PSU, LDO regulator module, adjustable linear regulator (LM317/LM338 type), fixed voltage regulator (7805/7812 series), dual tracking supply (±12V/±15V).
