UPS – Uninterruptible Power Supply (bộ lưu điện, battery backup power system, backup power supply) là thiết bị cung cấp điện liên tục cho tải khi nguồn lưới bị mất hoặc sụt áp, bằng cách tự động chuyển sang ắc quy/battery dự phòng mà không làm gián đoạn hoạt động (no-break power). UPS kết hợp AC-DC charger, battery management, inverter DC-AC và automatic transfer switch (ATS) để duy trì nguồn AC ổn định.
Nguyên lý: khi có điện lưới, UPS cấp điện cho tải đồng thời sạc pin; khi mất điện, hệ thống instant switchover (ms level transfer time) chuyển sang inverter để tiếp tục cấp điện. Một số loại còn có voltage regulation (AVR), line conditioning, surge protection và EMI filtering.
Phân loại chính:
Offline/Standby UPS – cơ bản, giá thấp
Line-Interactive UPS – có AVR ổn áp
Online Double-Conversion UPS – điện luôn qua inverter, pure sine wave output, ổn định nhất
Chức năng bảo vệ: overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), surge protection, overcurrent protection (OCP), short circuit protection (SCP), battery overcharge/over-discharge protection.
Ứng dụng: máy tính, server, router, modem, camera CCTV, thiết bị viễn thông, PLC, thiết bị y tế, hệ thống an ninh, thiết bị đo lường, data center, IoT gateway.
Thông số quan trọng: capacity (VA/W), backup time, transfer time, input voltage range, output voltage (220VAC), waveform (simulated/pure sine wave), battery type (VRLA/Li-ion), charging time, efficiency.
